Jeff Thompson, a Certified Expert Penetration Tester with the BCCS Technical Safeguards Unit, will deliver a presentation on security awareness for server administrators. You will learn to view your servers, network, and data from a hacker’s perspective which will enable you to better secure your environment. You will see several demonstrations of weakness such as buffer overflows, SQL injection, and weak passwords with an emphasis on remediation techniques. You will see the return on investment in proactive security practices. This presentation is open to state employees who are responsible for server, network, and web administration and security.
